How to Use the Wordle Solver
Using the solver takes less than a minute:
- Play your usual opening guess in Wordle — SLATE and CRANE are the statistically strongest starters.
- Type each green letter into the matching green box, in its exact position.
- Type each yellow letter into the yellow box of the position where it appeared (it is in the word, just not there).
- Type all gray letters into the gray field and hit Find words.
Wordle Solver Tips
- Two guesses are usually enough. After two strong openers you will normally have enough greens and yellows to narrow the list to a handful of words.
- Don’t reuse gray letters. Every gray letter you enter eliminates hundreds of candidates — the more grays, the shorter the list.
- Watch out for double letters. If a letter appears twice in your guess and one copy is gray, the answer contains it only once. The solver ignores a gray letter when the same letter is also green or yellow.
